Alongside the new A7S II, Sony also introduced a new 4K cinema camera – the Sony PXW-FS5.
The FS5 features a Super 35 CMOS sensor and accepts Sony E-mount lenses. It captures 4K video with the XAVC-L codec at 24p/30p frame rates. It will also capture 1080p HD video at full resolution up to 240fps. [Read more…]

Cameras are also aiming to take over the jobs of factory workers too. Canon EF 11-24mm fl4L USM Lens Cutaway
I loving seeing these displays of lenses and other photo product cutaways at trade shows and expos. At the Canon Expo in New York last week, Canon had its EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM and EF 11-24mm f/4L USM lenses on display with them cut perfectly in half.

This gave us a view of the incredible engineering that goes into these modern professional lenses.
Here’s another great lighting setup and walk-through from Karl Taylor as he shoots a bottle and glass of red wine.
He starts with setting up the scene to create warm tones and textures. Then he walks through the lighting setup from the background and accent lights up to the key light as he builds the scene.
Obviously, he’s using Broncolor strobes in the setup but the principles apply across the board with cheaper speedlights and strobes as well.

Canon recently announced the ME20F-SH, a full frame EF-mount camera with sensitivity up to ISO 4,000,000.
