Adobe Lightroom 4.4 and Camera Raw 7.4 Release Candidates Now Available

February 25, 2013 By Eric Reagan

Lightroom 4

Adobe just announced release candidates for Lightroom 4.4 and Camera Raw 7.4, which are now available in Adobe Labs.  Lightroom 4.4 and Camera Raw 7.4 offer support for the following cameras:

  • Canon EOS 1D C
  • Casio Exilim EX-ZR700
  • Fujifilm X100s
  • Fujifilm X20
  • Hasselblad Lunar
  • Leica M
  • Nikon 1 J3
  • Nikon 1 S1
  • Pentax MX-1

Additionally, the updates including corrections to the demosaic algorithms for Fujifilm cameras with the X-Trans sensor (e.g., the Fujifilm X-Pro1 and X-E1).

Remember, these are release candidates, which means they’ve been pretty well tested and Adobe thinks they are ready for full release; however, it’s recommended that you keep production work to prior versions until the official releases drop.  Expect those to come soon though.  Release candidates mean that the final versions are just around the corner.

Canon EOS M (Version 2.0) Rumors

February 24, 2013 By Eric Reagan

Canon-EOS-M Rumors

Canon really missed the mark on the EOS M that was introduced last summer. The camera had the potential to be the next big thing in the mirrorless market; however, the sluggish AF system killed any chances of that.

Recent rumors point to a higher spec’d EOS M-style camera that will hopefully deliver in the autofocus department. Check out the rumored spec list below. [Read more…]

Nikon D600 Service Advisory

February 24, 2013 By Eric Reagan

Nikon D600

Nikon has finally issued a service advisory for the Nikon D600 with regard to the dust accumulation on the sensor. Those hoping for a fix for the abnormal amount of dust and debris on the D600 sensor, however, will be disappointed to learn that Nikon essentially says that this is perfectly normal behavior “generally attributed to the natural accumulation of dust.”

The solution?

Have the D600 serviced by a Nikon service center.

The full service advisory is reproduced below. [Read more…]
