Pentax 25mm f/4 Lens for 645D Medium Format Camera

Pentax 25mm f4 for 645D

Pentax has launched a new 25mm lens for its 645D medium format camera.  The new 25mm f/4 lens offers a full frame focal length equivalent to 19.5mm.  The new lens retails for $5,000 and should be available this month at B&H Photo and other Pentax retailers.

Zeiss 15mm f/2.8 Lens Available for Pre-Order

The new Zeiss Distagon T* 15mm f/2.8 lens is now available for pre-order from B&H Photo in both Canon mount and Nikon mount.  B&H says it will ship on April 12.

Axtremex Unveils 120MB/s CF Card

Axtremex

Axtremex Technology has announced a new CompactFlash card with an 800x speed rating, claiming 120MB/s read speeds and 95MB/s write speeds.  The card is UDMA Mode 7 compatible and runs $400 for a 128GB capacity.

Note that even faster speeds have been attained my mainstream manufacturers (see the 1000x Lexar CF card for 150MB/s read speeds); however, prices are much higher.

Boris Continuum Complete 8 for Sony Vegas Pro Now Available

Sony Vegas Pro editors can now get Boris Continuum Complete 8 to add onto Vegas Pro versions 10 and 11.  All BCC filters take advantage of either multi-processing or OpenGL acceleration.  The BCC 8 package retails for $995, but is now available at an introductory price $595.  Upgrades from prior BCC software is $295. Western Digital Portable Drives Grow to 2TB

Western Digital’s My Passport drives are now available in sizes up to 2TB.  These drives support the USB 3.0 interface and are bus-powered for portability.

The line of My Passport drives range in size from 500GB to 2TB and retail between $130 and $250.  Check availability at B&H Photo, Amazon and WD’s website.
