Adobe CS5

Technicolor CineLights and CineLooks Color Correction Tools

January 11, 2012 By Eric Reagan

Technicolor CineLights at CES

Deep inside the Technicolor booth at CES 2012 was a small table showing off some new color correction software from the same company that brought CineStyles to our Canon HDSLRs last year.

Technicolor CineLights is a program based on Technicolor’s award-winning DP Lights system and is intended for quick color correction such as dailies.  It’s not really intended as a finish grading tool; however, it does offer some keying, three-way color correction and a Look Library as part of CineLooks. Polaroid SC1630 Hands-On

January 11, 2012 By Eric Reagan

Polaroid SC1630

The Polaroid SC1630 is a new Android-based camera that was unveiled at CES 2012.  I had a chance to check it out up close and get a little taste of its performance.

I found it more than a little ironic that Polaroid would produce a camera that looks and feels like a phone while other manufacturers are fighting to differentiate the point and shoot camera from smart phones.

Polaroid SC1630

Even more intriguing is the fact that the Polaroid SC1630 offers a SIM-card slot, along with a speaker and mic that make it possible to use it as a phone. [Read more…]

Polaroid’s Z340 instant digital camera is a bit of a throwback to the old-school Polaroid film cameras.  The new Z340 uses Zink zero in technology for printing digitally-capture images instantly from the camera.  I had a chance to take a closer look at the Z340 on the show floor at CES 2012. LR4 Beta

I was checking out the G-Tech booth (more on this soon) at a CES press event last night when a girl from Adobe walked up to me and said I might want to walk around the corner to Adobe’s booth because they just announced Lightroom 4 beta.  Woohoo!

I spent awhile talking to the Adobe folks about Lightroom 4 and going through the new features.  A few things really stand out… [Read more…]
