Canon 7D Mark II Shipping October 30

7D Mark II Availability

We previously thought the Canon 7D Mark II would ship in November; however, an update to Amazon’s listing for the camera reveals that it will ship on October 30. That’s just a couple weeks away folks.

While B&H still has the camera listed for availability in November, they will likely get ship the camera at the same time as Amazon.

“Cello” is a Short Film Shot on the 7D Mark II

Canon finally made a 7D Mark II video sample available in 1080p, albeit with lovely YouTube compression.

Nonetheless, the above short, Cello, shows off the low light and AF capability of the new 7D Mark II.

Canon is constantly criticized for playing it safe in their product development and marketing. As I noted when the See Impossible teaser was posted, it contained some very bold statements:

The message is uncharacteristically bold for Canon announcements. Sure, there is some puffery in the standard Canon press releases and Canon generally thinks its crap doesn’t stink, but this is a few steps above all that.
