Product photos of the upcoming Canon Cinema EOS C200 have leaked out ahead of its official announcement. With the release of the Canon 7D Mark II a couple years back, we are starting to see more and more Canon DSLRs offer a built-in intervalometer. For those of us who have shot Canon DSLRs for a long time, this is a very welcomed trend.
The Canon 80D offers virtually the same built-in intervalometer features we saw on the Canon 7D Mark II. NAB 2017 is a very video-centric tradeshow. Today, however, I walked away with a striking impression of the photo industry. As the digital camera market becomes more and more niche, the benefit for manufacturers is that consumers in the market become more and more specific to the features and tech they want in their cameras.
As I sat in the Blackmagic Design press conference this morning, I was impressed with the company’s advances with Da Vinca Resolve 14, its new ATEM Television Studio Pro HD and Bluetooth features for the Ursa Mini Pro. However, the thing that struck me the most during the press event was the sheer number of Sony mirrorless camera users in the room. Canon adds a new macro lens to its APS-C DSLR line with the new EF-S 35mm f/2.8 Macro IS STM lens. The new macro lens features built-in Macro Lites around the front element.
