DxO Optics Pro v9.1.5 Adds DNG Raw File Support for the Nokia Lumia 1020

DxO Optics Pro has been updated to version 9.1.5 with added support for the DNG raw compatible Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphone. Additionally, 472 new camera/lens combos have been added to library of DxO Optics Modules.

DaVinci Resolve 11 is What FCP X Should Have Been

Just a few years ago, DaVinci Resolve was a boutique, all-in-one hardware/software solution for colorists that was a six-figure product. The price currently stands at $30k; however, Blackmagic began offering DaVinci Resolve for Mac in 2010 for $995, which was a huge deal at the time. The price still stands at $995 for the full version; however, Blackmagic also offers a Resolve Lite version for free. The $995 full version is also included for free with the $1995 Blackmagic Cinema Camera and higher level cameras.

In DaVinci Resolve 10, we got a timeline for making some basic editing functions when we import a XML from a supported NLE. Again, it was a huge move that further extended the value of Resolve.

Blackmagic announced DaVinci Resolve 11 at NAB 2014 and they have stepped up the game even further. Now, you can start and finish your editing project in Resolve 11 with no need open another NLE.

Pixelmator Adds 16-Bit Color and Mac Pro GPU and Multi-core Support

The affordable image editing program Pixelmator recently received an update to version 3.1 with several enhancements geared toward the new Mac Pro.

Notable updates for the new Mac Pro include dual GPU support, 16-bit support, background autosave and multicore optimization for up to 12-core processing. Additionally, Pixelmator 3.1 allows you to order prints from within the program using MILK Print on Demand.

You can find the complete list of updates here on Pixelmator’s website. Pixelmator runs $29.99 and is available in the Mac App Store.
