Sony RX100 III vs. Fuji X30 Comparison

October 16, 2014 By Eric Reagan

Kai over at DigitalRev recently took the Sony RX100 III and Fuji X30 for a test drive with the intent of finding out which camera is the better advanced pocket shooter.

On the spec side, the RX100 II leads the way with a larger 1″ sensor and higher resolution at 20.1MP. The Fuji X30 has a 2/3″ sensor and 12MP resolution. He covers ergonomics of the two cameras as well and gives quite a bit of attention to the electronic viewfinders. Check out the video above for the full report.

Sony RX20 with 4K Video Capture Due Next Month

September 29, 2014 By Eric Reagan

Sony RX10-2

When Sony announced the RX10 last year, it raised some eyebrows with its 1″ sensor format, 24-200mm f/2.8 equivalent zoom lens and rather compact form factor for such serious specs. Sony Lens Roadmap Shows Full Frame Commitment

September 28, 2014 By Eric Reagan

Sony Lens Roadmap 9.15.14 700

One of the few criticisms Sony’s A7 series receives is that there are not many native lenses available for the full frame cameras. Well, Sony is aiming to remedy some of that criticism by aggressively building out its full frame lens line in 2015.

In a new lens roadmap, Sony highlights its short term goal of 20 lenses in its FE line (that’s full frame E-mount lenses). I suspect we could start seeing these lenses launching as early as January 2015 at CES.
