Nikon Capture NX-D ver. 1.0.2 adds D750 Support

Nikon has updated Capture NX-D to version 1.0.2, which adds support for D750 RAW files and a bug fix for file exports. You can download the update here on Nikon’s website.

Sigma USB Dock Firmware ver. 1.02 Released

Sigma Lenses at CES 2013-8

Sigma has updated the firmware for its USB lens dock to version 1.02.

The new firmware adds compatibility for the Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM lens and the 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DC MACRO OS HSM lens.

How to Adjust Lighting in Post Production Using Photoshop

Check out this video from Photoshop Principal Product Manager Bryan O’Neil Hughes as he walks through how to adjust lighting to a photo after the fact using some basic tools inside Photoshop. In this video he takes a midday photo and changes it to the appearance of a photo taken at dusk with new lighting elements within.

I had an aging MacBook Pro. It’s a 2011 model, which I believe is the first model with Thunderbolt. And while the Thunderbolt connectivity has been great, the internal 5400RPM hard drive has gotten slower and slower over the years.

After hearing plenty of reports on the benefits of upgrading to an internal SSD drive in these MacBook models, I finally bit the (surprising affordable) bullet and picked up a Crucial 512GB SSD for a little over $200. [Read more…]

Domke the Herald Camera Bag

Domke recently introduced its Next Generation line of camera bags, which feature several series within. Within the Journalist series is the Herald satchel camera bag.

The Herald is the grandchild of the Domke F-803. It is a traditional satchel bag, featuring a leather grab handle and a nylon shoulder strap. You can get it with a ruggedwear, cordura or canvas outer material and is available in four colors. I got ahold of the military green and black/sand bags for this review. [Read more…]

New rumors suggest that Sony is primed to launch a 50MP-ish (some sources say 46MP) full frame camera in early 2015. Sony’s 36MP full frame A7R has been highly regarded for its image quality and affordable price. Likewise, the 36MP Sony sensor has been put to good use in the Nikon D810 and D800 models.
