It came as no surprise when I received a phone call last week from one of my contacts at B&H Photo that the company had been awarded 2014 E-tailer of the Year by Digital Imaging Magazine.

Photography Bay has been closely affiliated with B&H since shortly after this site kicked off back in 2006. And before that, I had been a personal customer of B&H for several years dating back to my high school days as I browsed its ad in the back of Popular Photography every month. [Read more…]

Manfrotto Adds New Aluminum Tripod to the 535 Series

Manfrotto has added a new single leg aluminum tripod to the 535 series of video tripods. The MVT535AQ supports 44 pounds and features a 75mm bowl, as well as a 60mm bowl adapter.

It also adds a fourth leg section (compared to the three section carbon fiber model), while maintaining the same reach and load capacity, allowing it to be an even more compact design.

The MVT535AQ retails for $367 and will be available as a kit with the Manfrotto 500, 502 and 504HD video heads. Check out all of the Manfrotto 535 series here at B&H Photo.

Another Fuji X30 Leak

Here’s another look at the upcoming Fuji X30 in black. Now we get a better look at the control layout atop the camera. It’s very similar to the X20. The most notable difference being the presence of a video record button where the Fn button was on the X20.

Pentax K-3 Firmware Update ver. 1.11

Ricoh has released a firmware update for the Pentax K-3. Firmware version 1.11 provides the following updates:

  • Corrected – When shooting image after using the Built-in flash, Exif data of shutter speed is not updated on Version 1.10.
  • Added automatic reset function when detecting rarely occur abnormal motion of the sequence.
    (When automatic reset function is operated, latest setting will be reset)
