Apple’s New Mac Pro Starts at $2999

Apple launched its new Mac Pro today after teasing it earlier this year. The Mac Pro packs a powerful punch into a cylinder chassis that’s often been compared to a coffee maker.

The base model features an Intel Xeon E5 Quad-Core processor at 3.7GHz, 12GB DDR3 ECC RAM, 256GB PCIe-based flash storage  and dual AMD FirePro D300 GPUs (at 2GB VRAM each). The Mac Pro offers six Thunderbolt 2 ports, four USB 3.0 ports, dual Gigabit ethernet ports and an HDMI 1.4 UltraHD port. All models will power up to three 4K displays simultaneously.
