Fuji XQ1 is a Compact Camera with a X-Trans II Sensor

The new Fujifilm XQ1 was introduced alongside the Fuji X-E2 mirrorless camera. The XQ1 is a compact camera that features Fuji’s unique 12MP X-Trans II CMOS sensor, albeit at a much smaller 2/3″ sensor format. Fuji X-E2 Unveiled, Adds Faster Overall Performance

The Fuji X-E2 steps up from its X-E1 predecessor by generally offering a faster and more capable set of features. The 16.3MP APS-C X-Trans II sensor has no color filter array thanks to the unique X-Trans pixel arrangement that limits moire. Watch This Video: Fire Breathing With a 24 GoPro Array

GoPro’s Tyler Johnson put together this cool array of 24 GoPro HERO 3 cameras, which provides a “budget” alternative to the high-end Matrix bullet time effect.

You can see the handheld array in the above frame grab. I think Tyler did a solid job of blending the frames together in post for the smooth bullet time effect.

3 New LED Lights from Fotodiox are Lightweight with Barn Doors

Fotodiox has announced three new high-intensity LED lights: the Fotodiox LED-312D, LED-312DS, and LED-1024AL.

The LEDs are upgrades to its past best sellers, and come complete with all-metal barn doors that lock on and stay in place no matter how it’s mounted, to shape and control lighting.

The LED-312D is a daylight balanced light  at 5600K with a CRI of 92 with variable intensity, while the LED-312DS is a variable temperature light.

Nikon D5300 Announced, Features Built-in WiFi & GPS

Nikon has announced its new D5300, which is a 24.2MP DSLR and is Nikon’s first to include built-in WiFi and GPS.

The built-in WiFi provides instant photo sharing to smartphones or tablets, while GPS gives users the option of geotagging images as they are captured. [Read more…]
