If you are regular reader here, you may have picked up on the fact that I use Adobe Lightroom almost exclusively as an editor for RAW images.  I’m curious as to how Photography Bay’s readers break down between the two big third-party RAW editing apps – Adobe Lightroom and Apple Aperture.

Topaz Labs’ latest plug-in, B&W Effects, is now available for Photoshop, Lightroom, Aperture or Photoshop Elements.

Apple Aperture 3.1.2 Now Available

Apple has updated Aperture 3 to version 3.1.2, which “addresses overall stability and performance issues,” as well as fixing issues with importing iPhoto libraries, improving responsiveness with brushes and reconnecting referenced master images.

Apple has updated its Camera RAW compatibility to version 3.5 and extends RAW image format compatibility to Aperture 3 and iPhoto ‘11 for the following cameras:

  • Leica D-Lux 5
  • Leica V-Lux 2
  • Nikon D7000
  • Nikon Coolpix P7000
  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2

Animoto Plug-in for Apple Aperture

Animoto has released a free plug-in for Apple Aperture users.

Available at no charge, the plug-in lets Aperture users initiate Animoto video projects from directly within Aperture. Now, even when working in Aperture, photographers are only a few clicks away from a stunning Animoto video. –Animoto
