Apple Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 6.01
Apple has issued an update to Digital Camera RAW to version 6.01, which adds RAW image compatibility for the following cameras to Aperture 3 and iPhoto ’11.

Corel AfterShot Pro 2 Now Available in Mac App Store
Corel continues to make progress with AfterShot Pro 2. Now the RAW file processing program is available in the Mac App Store for $79.99.
Corel is attempting to capitalize on the demise of Apple Aperture by making AfterShot Pro 2 available in the same customer portal at the same price point. To Corel’s credit, AfterShot Pro 2 looks like a nice upgrade to the first version of AfterShot Pro. You can read more about the improvements in the AfterShot Pro 2 announcement post.

Crucial SSD Upgrade Made My Old MacBook Pro Better than New
I had an aging MacBook Pro. It’s a 2011 model, which I believe is the first model with Thunderbolt. And while the Thunderbolt connectivity has been great, the internal 5400RPM hard drive has gotten slower and slower over the years.

iPhone 6 Video Stabilization Sample
There are a couple of key new features in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus that make it an attractive device for enthusiast mobile photographers.
The iPhone 6 has digital image stabilization for still photos, while the iPhone 6 Plus has the coveted optical image stabilization. Adobe Releases Photoshop Mix Version 1.1
Adobe has released a new update for Photoshop Mix, which is a free app for the iPad. New features in version 1.1 include the following:
- Image Swap, enabling users to change the order of layers in a Mix project by dragging and dropping thumbnails
- Redesigned undo and redo experience enabling for more creative freedom
- Full round-trip editing capabilities between Photoshop Express and Photoshop Mix
- Ability to save full resolution files to the user’s local camera roll
- Support for large panoramic files, as well as PNG file formats

Adobe Releases Guide for Moving from Aperture to Lightroom
With the recent news that Apple is killing off Aperture, many users are flocking to Adobe Lightroom, while others are waiting it out to see what Apple has in store with its new Photos app due in OS X 10.10 Yosemite.
In the mean time, Adobe has created a guide for those who are interested in transitioning from Aperture to Lightroom. You can download the guide here on Adobe’s website. While Adobe pushes pretty heavy for the Creative Cloud Photography plan on the page where you find the guide, you can still buy a perpetual license for Lightroom.
