B&H has a $400 off deal for the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM. It is usually priced at $2,374. The price is valid through Dec. 2.
B&H has the Canon 24-105mm f/4L IS lens for only $899.95 as a refurbished model. That’s about $160 off the price of buying a new one.
Amazon has a bevy of DSLR and photo deals today coming through its Lightning Deals page. It starts at 3:15AM ET and keeps rolling throughout the day. I count at least 3 Canon DSLR deals that should go within minutes of the announcement time if earlier deals were anything to measure by.

Amazon is about to open up Cyber Monday with a Lightning Deal on a Canon DSLR. Chances are that this limited quantity item will go fast, so watch the countdown here a little before 12:15AM ET if you’re interested.

There are several Black Friday deals on Canon PowerShot models with up to $100 off over at Amazon right now (includes the G12, SX40 HS, 310 HS, 230 HS and more). The deals are valid through Nov. 26 only. Here’s the link.

As I have been perusing through the Black Friday ads this week, the one thing I’ve noticed is how underwhelming most of the DSLR “doorbuster” deals have been. And how Amazon’s ordinary prices are inline with these Black Friday deals.
For instance, almost every major brick & mortar retailer is selling the Canon Rebel T3 at $479 as some kind of huge deal. It was $478 on Amazon earlier this week and is $468 at the time of this post.
Amazon is offering a free basic backpack and an 8GB memory card with several Canon Rebel kits (e.g., T3, T2i, T3i), most of which are already cheaper than what’s you’ll find if you happen to make it into a store at 4AM and find them in stock. Throw in the Transcend 8GB card and basic camera backpack, and you’ve got all the more reason to stay inside on Black Friday.

A Canon Thailand executive recently reaffirmed that Canon’s digital camera distribution was not affected by the Thailand floods, which unfortunately have caused a great deal of trouble for Nikon. [Read more…]
The Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II and 400mm f/2.8L IS II lenses have been available at times in limited quality; however, it looks like B&H has them both available now. Hit the links above for details.
Note that the 400mm lens is listed as “available for pre-order” which generally means that B&H expects it to be in stock and shipping out to customers within the next few days.
The Canon 500mm f/4L IS II and 600mm f/4L IS II lenses were announced in February 2011, with availability initially set for May and June for the respective lenses. In May, the availability date for these lenses was pushed back to December 2011.
Canon dropped a press release yesterday to simply say that availability is “yet to be determined” for these lenses – presumably to make it official that Canon will miss the December ship date. As for the 200-400mm f/4L IS lens, it’s TBD as well.
