Sony 4K Camcorder Unveiled at CES 2013
At it’s CES 2013 press conference on Monday, Sony unveiled a concept model of an upcoming 4K consumer camcorder. Sony had a mock-up of this 4K camcorder under glass in their booth at CES.
While Sony referred to this camera as a consumer model, it is clear from looking at it that the camera is at least a prosumer model in terms of available features – if not a low-end pro model. [Read more…]
Pentax MX-1 Hands-On
The Pentax MX-1 is a new, retro-styled point and shoot camera with a 1/1.7″ sensor inside at 12MP resolution. It has a robust body, complete with a brass top that will add some character to individual units as they age.

Nikon 1 J3 and S1 Officially Unveiled
Nikon took official wraps off the new J3 and S1 mirrorless cameras at CES 2013. The J3 follows the limited-availability of the J2 and the S1 rounds out the bottom-end of the Nikon 1 series lineup.
The Nikon 1 J3 features a 14.2MP CX-format sensor and captures HD video. It retains the peppy AF speed that’s become customary to the Nikon 1 line and sports a 15fps burst capability. The Nikon 1 J3 is equipped with a 10-30mm kit lens and should be available in February for $599.95. Check availability here at B&H Photo.
The Nikon 1 S1 sports a 10.1MP CX-format sensor and captures HD video as well. It has a simpler interface for easier navigation, but still features the fast AF and 15fps frame rate found in the J3. Nikon D5200 Available This Month in US
The previously-announced Nikon D5200 is making its US debut at CES 2013 and should be available later this month with the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 VR lens for $899.95 in black, red and bronze.
