Canon 1D C Firmware Update Offers 25p at 4K in April
Canon has announced that it will be providing a free update to the EOS 1D C to make the 25p frame rate available for 4K capture in April 2013. This announcement is a result of feedback from the European professional video community.
Stay tuned for word on the official release of the firmware update when it hits.
Canon 1D X Firmware Update Version 1.2.1
Canon has issued a firmware update for the EOS 1D X. Firmware version 1.2.1 incorporates the following improvements and fixes.
- The function to disable the Image size selection button has been added.
* Please see the instruction manual “EOS-1D X Firmware Version 1.2.x Additional Function” (PDF file) included in the downloaded firmware 1.2.1 folder for information on how to intentionally disable this button, after the firmware update 1.2.1 has been installed in the camera. - Fixes a phenomenon in which Err 70 and Err 80 may occur during certain shooting conditions.

Pentax K-5 II and K-5 IIs Firmware Update Ver. 1.01
Pentax has issued a firmware update for the K-5 II and K-5 IIs. Firmware version 1.01 provides the following updates and fixes:
- Enabled contrast adjustment on Monitor.
(Added [contrast ]on [LCD setting ]menu) - Improved stability for general performance.

Canon has issued a firmware update for the Canon 6D, which “Fixes a phenomenon which prevents movie files shot using Canon EOS 6D Digital SLR cameras from being played back on YouTube.”

Canon Issues AF Problem Service Notice for Canon 1D X
Some Canon 1D X units are not able to focus at f/8 aperture with lens/extender combos even after the latest firmware update. Canon has issued a service notice for affected units.
Canon 1D X units with the sixth digit from the left in the body number is 4 or 5 may be affected. Canon recommends overwriting the firmware with the latest copy available. More details in the full product advisory below. [Read more…]

Nikon has issued a firmware update for the Nikon D4 that increases “focus accuracy when a lens and teleconverter with a combined maximum aperture of f/8 is used.”
