Hasselblad Releases 3 Stellar Special Edition Cameras for $3175
As if the first round of dolled-up Sony RX100 cameras wasn’t enough, Hasselblad has unveiled 3 additional “special edition” models for the ripe price of $3175 each. Yes, the cameras perform virtually identical to the Sony RX100, but cost 6x the price. While the RX100 is a great camera, it’s not $3175 great.

Hasselblad Launching Its First Retail Store in Tokyo This Week
Hasselblad is opening the doors to its first retail store this week on September 14. The store is located in Tokyo, Japan adjacent to Hasselblad Japan offices in an area that features trendy fashion boutiques.
This is the first time that Hasselblad has ever offered direct sales in store in place of the normal sales chains through partners, distributors and dealers.

Hasselblad is, unfortunately, continuing its fall from grace with the upcoming Hasselblad Stellar compact camera that appears to be a straight-up rebadge of the popular Sony RX100. Hasselblad Lunar Now Shipping in US for $7000
I know all of you have been waiting so long to get your hands on a Hasselblad Lunar, so you’ll be glad to know that the Lunar has started shipping in the US for an insane price of $7000.
In case you have missed my previous rants, the Lunar is essentially a glorified Sony NEX-7 with a reworked body and controls from Hasselblad and a bloated price tag. You can pick up one (or two) for yourself here at Amazon.com.

Hasselblad 503CW Production Ends; V System is Dead
Hasselblad has announced that the V System has reach the end of the line and the last 503CW medium format camera has rolled of the production line.
Going forward, Hasselblad will focus on the H System for medium format capture; however, the company made no announcement concerning the upcoming Lunar camera, which is based off the Sony NEX system, noting only, “Additionally we are focusing on new products for advanced enthusiasts.”
