I ran across this crazy setup at the Nikon booth at PhotoPlus 2013. This is a Nikon D5200 equipped with the FSA-L2 field scope adapter and the Nikon EDG VR Fieldscope 20-60×85 spotting scope.
This combo produces a 750-2,625mm equivalent field of view on the Nikon D5200 (taking into account the 1.5x crop factor). [Read more…]

Tamron has announced the development of a new 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DI VC USD lens to replace the current 200-500mm version. The lens will be available in Canon, Nikon and Sony mounts and is compatible with both full frame and APS-C formats. [Read more…]

Nikon has announced the new AF-S NIKKOR 58mm f/1.4G lens for FX and DX format cameras. The new lens pays homage to the original Noct NIKKOR 58mm f/1.2 lens, while opting for the f/1.4 max aperture to ensure minimal falloff at the corners wide open. [Read more…]
A little more detail on the new Sigma 24-105mm f/4 DG OS HSM lens came out today with the official press release. Apparently, the earlier confirmation via Sigma’s website was a bit premature and was subsequently pulled from their site until today when the press release hit.

The previously leaked Sigma 24-105mm f/4 DG OS HSM lens has now show up on Sigma’s official website. The lens is now confirmed for Canon, Nikon, Sony and Sigma mount DSLRs and is part of Sigma’s Art line of lenses, along with the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM lens. [Read more…]

Alongside the new Pentax K-3, Ricoh also announced the new Pentax HD DA 55-300mm f/4-5.8 ED WR lens. The new telephoto zoom features Pentax’s multi-layer High Definition (HD) coating and a weather sealed construction.
