The Nikon Creative Lighting System, 2nd Edition is a new book from photography Mike Hagen that addresses “the common frustrations associated with flash, and specifically teaches how to use the SB-600, SB-700, SB-800, SB-900, SB-910, and R1C1 strobes. ”
The Nikon Creative Lighting System, 2nd Edition retails for $39.95; however, it is currently available for $25.27 on Amazon.com.
Recent stock updates on major retailers suggest that the Canon 5D Mark III, Nikon D4 and Nikon D800 will all ship in March. Those who are on some of the pre-order lists will be seeing their new cameras in the next couple of weeks.

Remember, this is a release candidate, which means it has been pretty well tested and Adobe thinks it is ready for full release; however, it’s recommended that you keep production work to prior versions until the official releases drop. Expect those to come soon though. Release candidates mean that the final versions are just around the corner.

As previously rumored, the Nikon D700 has received a significant price drop. It’s down $500 now to $2199.

Nikon Rumors uncovered an interesting little tidbit regarding the dealer pricing of the Nikon D800 in the US.
The D800 that your dealer sells to you for $3000 cost the dealer $2700, while the D800E sells for $3300 and cost the dealer $2970 – a markup of 11% and 10%, respectively. Accessories, however, are a different ball game altogether…

Those lamenting over the high resolution of the new Nikon D800 may be pleased to know that Nikon will continue to manufacturer the D700 “for the foreseeable future.”
There is no doubt to the popularity and solid performance of the Nikon D700, so this doesn’t necessarily come as a big shocker. The continued flux of the D700’s availability proves that there’s still a pretty big demand for this camera.
No word on what kind of price decreases we might see though. It’d be nice to see the D700 work its way into the sub-$2000 price range in the next few months. (Although that’s mostly wishful thinking – given its current $2700 price tag.) I think that would make it an easier reach for a lot of folks who have been holding off or saving their pennies to grab one.

My money is on this guy I saw casing the Nikon booth at CES 2012.
