The Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS lens has been rumored to be replaced for over quite some time now. One of the common complaints of the about the lens is the push-pull zoom design, which leads it to be regarded as a “dust sucker.” Additionally, the lens is rather slow at the long end of the zoom at f/5.6; however, that allows it to remain compact in spite of its long zoom range. Recent rumors suggest that we will see a pair of new Canon TS-E tilt-shift lenses added to Canon’s lineup in September for Photokina 2014.
The current TS-E 45mm f/2.8 and TS-E 90mm F/2.8 are well-overdue replacement; however, rumors point to only the 45mm lens getting a direct replacement while the other TS-E lens in the pipeline with be a “longer focal length” but not a 90mm lens. [Read more…]

New rumors suggest that the Nikon D800 may be getting a refreshed in a similar manner that we saw with the Nikon D4s. The updated models is rumored to boost the sensor performance using the same 36MP sensor and a boosting in processing power with the new Expeed 4.
No specifics have surfaced in terms of release time frame (Photokina would be a safe bet) or pricing.
