Topaz Labs have released DeNoise 4 with IntelliNoise technology, which is a new proprietary noise reduction method developed to reduce noise and maintain maximum detail.  DeNoise 4 is a plug-in that works with Photoshop, Aperture and Lightroom.

DeNoise 4 is available direct from Topaz Labs for $79.99.  A free trial is also available.

Tiffen Updates Dfx Digital Filter for Photoshop CS5

Tiffen has updated its Dfx Digital Filter software for Adobe Photoshop CS5 and other Creative Suite 5 programs.  The plug-ins for Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere Pro CS5 are now fully compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit Mac and Windows platforms.

Photoshop CS5 Now Available – Free Trials Ready for Download

That’s right, it’s available now.  You can download it for purchase or 30-day free trial from Adobe here.  It’s also available to purchase physical copies of Photoshop CS5 from online retailers such as B&H Photo, Amazon and Adorama.

Apple Aperture 3.0.3 Update

Apple has updated Aperture 3 to version 3.0.3, which is intended to improve stability and fix a number of issues, including the following areas:

  • Applying adjustments such as Retouch or Chromatic Aberration
  • Creating and using Raw Fine Tuning presets
  • Viewing, adding and removing detected faces
  • Switching target printers and paper sizes when printing
  • Duplicating Smart Albums
  • Repairing and rebuilding Aperture libraries
  • Reconnecting referenced files
  • Working with GPS track files in Places
  • Searching for keywords in the Query HUD or Keyword Controls

Photoshop CS5 Sneak Peek at Photoshop World 2010

Photoshop CS5 is easily the biggest elephant in the room at Photoshop World 2010.  Photoshop CS5 has an official launch date of April 12, 2010.  Several of the NAPP and Adobe crew members have been working with Photoshop CS5 and dropped several hints about new features throughout the first day, along with a wink and a nudge.

onOne Software Offers Free Photoshop Plug-ins

onOne Software just announced the availability of free versions of its PhotoTools 2.5 and PhotoFrame 4.5 Photoshop plug-ins.  The Standard versions of each will set you back $160 each; however, the free versions are based on the standard versions, only they have less content.  These are free forever though – unlike the 30-day trial versions you see out there.

The plug-ins are compatible with Photoshop CS2, CS3 and CS4.  I don’t see any downside to this deal from onOne.  So, head on over and check them out at http://www.ononesoftware.com/free.

Pentax K-7 Firmware Version 1.03

Pentax has issued a firmware update for the K-7.  The new firmware version 1.03 addresses the following issues:

  • Lens Correction (Distortion, Lateral chromatic aberration) is settable for below FA limited lenses.

  • Improved usability by optimize the program of vertical position judgment.
