Bride Drowns During Photoshoot in Wedding Dress

While posing for a photo shoot in her wedding dress near a river in Montreal, a woman slipped and fell into water about 1-foot deep.  The “wedding dress got soaked and became extremely heavy.  She started slipping and falling down when the photographer grabbed her but she was too heavy that he couldn’t pull her from the edge,” according to Quebec provincial police Sgt. Speedlight Gels and Softbox Grids with Joe McNally

Here’s a great video from Joe McNally and Adorama TV.  Joe’s working a Nikon D800 with the built-in flash as the commander flash, a Lastolite Ezybox softbox with grid and a red-gelled speedlight for a background light.

New Canon iPF Large Format Printers Due Sept. 12

Canon Rumors is reporting that it is a lock that Canon will unveil new imagePROGRAF large format printers just prior to Photokina 2012 on September 12.  Moreover, the new printers should feature tech borrowed from Canon’s recent PIXMA Pro-1 printer.

The Nikon D600 is a highly anticipated FX format DSLR and, according to Nikon Rumors, it is coming soon – possibly on or around September 13, 2012.  Shortly after the Nikon D800 was announced earlier this year, buzz of a more affordable (rumors are in the $1500-$2000 range) full frame camera started to grow.  And, it looks like the official launch is almost upon us. IncrediBooth is the iTunes App Store Free App of the Week

Hipstamatic’s IncrediBooth is the Free App of the Week on the iTunes App Store.  Normally priced at $0.99 Incredibooth is a photo booth for your iPhone that lets you create photo strips from your front-facing camera.  You can then share your photo strips on Facebook, Twitter and email or save them to your photo library.

There are four styles included with the app and several more available for purchase from within the app.  You can get IncrediBooth here on the iTunes App Store.

Adobe Prelude CS6 Now Available as a Standalone Product

Prelude CS6

Adobe Prelude CS6,  which is software for ingesting and logging of file-based footage workflows, is now available as a standalone product. Prelude CS6 was introduced in April 2012 as a part of the CS6 Master Collection, CS6 Production Premium and Creative Cloud.

Prelude CS6 is now available as a standalone product exclusively from Adobe.com for $399 for a perpetual license.  As noted, Creative Cloud users get this with their membership.

Adobe Revel 1.5 Now Available

Adobe has updated its cloud photo album app, Revel, to version 1.5.  The new version adds the following features:

  • Albums to organize photos – Create an album on one device and it is automatically updated and accessible everywhere
  • Sharing albums on the Web – Share private albums with friends and family via AdobeRevel.com
  • Captions – Add context to memories with text descriptions
  • An updated all new UI makes the app more intuitive and easier to navigate
  • Library grid view – Browse photos in track or grid view
  • Sign in with Facebook or Google IDs – Eliminate the hassle of remembering another password by logging in with a Facebook or Google ID and password

Adobe Revel operates on a subscription basis – either $5.99/month or $59.99/year.  With Revel, you can sync an unlimited number of images across your devices.  It is available via the Mac App Store (for Macs) and the iTunes App Store (for iPhone and iPad).
