Nikon V1 Shipping Soon from B&H

B&H sent me an email to pass along that the Nikon V1 is available for pre-order and should be shipping soon.  Hopefully, they’ll get these out the door before they close for 11 days starting on Wednesday.  I’ll update this if/when I hear more.

Sony Full Frame 36MP Camera to Follow Nikon D800

Recent rumors purport to make the Nikon D800 a “sure thing” for a 2011 announcement.  While a follow-up to the Nikon D700 is overdue in terms of camera life expectancy, the biggest “shocker” of the rumor suggests a 36MP full frame sensor in the D800.

Nikon has relied on Sony for its past full frame sensors, and so, it seems logical that Sony would make use of such a sensor in its own Alpha-series DSLRs as well (as in the Nikon D3X and Sony A900 models).  And that me be what’s to come with a new full frame Sony camera sporting the same 36MP Sony sensor to be found in the Nikon D800. The LockPort5 (from the folks who make the Lock Circle) protects your Canon 5D Mark II‘s HDMI port and includes a built-in mini-HDMI to full-size HDMI adapter.  As a result, you can use standard HDMI cables on your 5D Mark II when going to an off-camera monitor.

There’s a 7D version coming soon as well.

Fuji X10 Priced at $599, Available November

The Fuji X10 has received an official retail pricepoint of $599.95.  It should be available in November.

Product pages and/or pre-order options are now up at B&H Photo and Adorama.

The Fuji X10 features a 12.3MP image sensor and a 4x optical zoom, which is controlled by a manual lens ring on the lens barrel.  In addition to RAW still-image capture, the X10 will capture 1080p HD video. Other notable features include a max sensitivity of ISO 12,800 and a TTL-capable hot shoe.
