The Nikon D850 has a high resolution 45.7MP full frame sensor. This makes it challenging on lenses to match the capability of the sensor. Fortunately, Nikon has lots of great lenses up to the task and has released a list of recommended lenses for the D850 that can accomodate the new sensor to the fullest. Check them out below. According to Canon Rumors, the successor(s) to the popular Canon 5DS and 5DS R is not expected to receive a major jump in resolution. While the 5DS series jumped out from the 5D product line with a massive increase in resolution, the next iteration to the product line is expected to see less than a 20% increase for the already whopping 50.6MP sensor on the 5DS.
The new Canon 5DS Mark II (or whatever it is called) is expected to hit sometime in 2018. With Nikon’s new D850 (and its 45.7MP FX sensor) rolling in a ton of praise right now, what does Canon need to do with the 5DS line to gain the spotlight once again?

A week ago, I wrote about the new 12TB drive from Seagate that was a single 3.5″ drive. But check this out; Western Digital also announced a 14TB 3.5″ drive, the HGST Ultrastar Hs14. The new HGST drive was actually announced last week as well (thanks Oberoth).
The storage industry is scaling like crazy. Every time a new barrier is passed, I can’t help but reminisce about my first Gateway 2000 computer with a 4GB hard drive from 1998. Of course, everyone that had a home computer in the 90s thought that we would never fill all the space on a 4GB drive.
Don’t expect the 14TB capacity to stand at the top of the mound for long though. Seagate has an 16TB planned for 2018 and expects to launch 20TB drives in 2020. As we continue to shoot higher resolution images and video though, we’ll fill these up faster than we would have previously expected.
You can geek out on all the specs for the new Hs14 here on Extremetech.

It’s that time of the year again when Adobe releases updates for its Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements apps. The 2018 versions of the apps offer improved organization, automated editing and new Guided Edits that walk you through how to edit and create.
Adobe Elements Organizer 2018 now automatically curates your photos based on quality, faces, subjects and more. You can also build slideshows of your curated photos and videos with one-click. 67 new guided edits offer step-by-step instructions for tasks like swapping backgrounds, creating double exposures, adding overlay effects and more.
Note also that Adobe changed the naming scheme to match the year, so that Photoshop Elements 2018 is the replacement for Photoshop Elements 15 (released in 2016).
You can find out more of the new features on the Photoshop Blog. Adobe Photoshop Elements 2018 is available now for $99.99. Check it out here at B&H Photo and Amazon.com. Likewise, Premiere Elements 2018 is available for $99.99. Check it out here at B&H Photo and Amazon.com. The combo of the two apps is also available for $149.99, which you can find here at B&H Photo.
