July 28, 2010 By Eric Reagan

Apple has updated its iMac and Mac Pro line to include the latest Intel processors, adding Core i7 as an iMac option and a dual processor 12-core Mac Pro option.

Additional product releases include a Magic Trackpad for adding MacBook trackpad functionality to desktops, and a new 27″ LED Cinema Display.

Full details at Tech Tilt: Apple Updates iMac and Mac Pro, Introduces Magic Trackpad and New 27-inch LED Cinema Display.

Also, working pros who demand serious horsepower should checkout this insightful post from digital imaging technician, Brook Willard: The State of Apple’s Professional Line.  I’m not trying to pile on by any means; however, I think Brook makes some important points about the lack of USB 3.0 and limited PCI slots, among others.  Your thoughts?

Lightroom for iPad? Adobe says: It’s Hard to Make It Work

June 11, 2010 By Eric Reagan

Over on his blog today, John Nack, Principal Product Manager, Adobe Photoshop,  briefly spoke about the huge demand for a Lightroom App for the Apple iPad and how hard that it is to make it work right.  Adobe’s Terry White had previously given us a wink and a nod that we might see Lightroom soon on the iPad, and Nack’s brief commentary suggests Adobe is hard at work to make it happen. However, citing Camera Bits’ troubles, it looks Abode is running into similar road blocks that other app developers have faced when it comes to making a truly worthwhile app for photographers.

Head on over to John Nack’s blog to see his thoughts, and speculate as you see fit.
