Nikon AF-S 600mm f/4E FL ED VR Lens
Nikon has announced the new AF-S 500mm f/4E FL ED VR and AF-S 600mm f/4E FL ED VR lenses, priced at $10,300 and $12,300, respectively.
The new super telephoto lenses shave pounds off of their predecessors. The new 500mm weighs in at 6.8 lbs (compared to 8.5 lbs for its precessor), while the new 600mm lens weighs 8.3 lbs (compared to 11.5 lbs for its predecessor). [Read more…]
Tokina has announced a new standard zoom lens – the Tokina 24-70mm f/2.8 PRO FX lens for Canon and Nikon mounts. It works with both full frame and APS-C format DSLRs.
The lens comes in at a very reasonable $999, compared to $1900 for Canon’s EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens and Nikon’s AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8G ED lens. [Read more…]

Fotodiox’s new ND Throttle allows you to adapt medium format lenses to Canon and Nikon DSLRs. It also includes a built-in variable ND filter, which allows you to use a variable ND filter on even wide-angle lenses.

I received my new Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens today and wanted to share my initial impressions.
This lens is situated as the next Nifty Fifty in Canon’s line-up, offering the popular 50mm focal length at an affordable $125 price point. Of course, on APS-C cameras like the Canon EOS Rebel series will provide a field of view equivalent to an 80mm lens on a full frame camera. Alongside the new Fuji X-T10, we get a nice new XF90mm f/2 R LM WR lens for the Fuji X-series line.
The new lens uses an optical construction of 11 elements in 8 groups (including three ED glass elements) that minimizes vignetting and creates attractive bokeh. It weighs less than 20 ounces offers a minimum working distance of about 24 inches.
