Booq Python Slimpack Camera Bag Review

February 26, 2015 By Eric Reagan

Booq-Python-Slimpack-Review

The Booq Python Slimpack is a compact backpack that can handle a decent-sized DSLR kit. It is a comfortable bag to wear – with more than adequate padding on the shoulder straps and back contact points.

The Python Slimpack is made with a rugged, ballistic nylon exterior with a water-repellant coating. It has a top opening for quick access to a camera and lens. The main compartment, however, is completely concealed with access only via the back panel. As a result, you have to completely remove the bag from your shoulders in order to gain access to additional lenses or camera bodies. [Read more…]

10-Things-Photographers-Hate-About-Nikon

We had a healthy little debate after I published 10 Things Canon Shooters Hate About Canon. Some of you agreed and some disagreed. In some cases, vehemently on either side.

As I said in the Canon post though, there are many great things about Canon. The same is true about Nikon. Great products. Great images. And a very avid user base of photographers.

Unfortunately, there are things that irritate many of us when it comes to what Nikon is doing. Without further ado, here are 10 things photographers hate about Nikon. [Read more…]

4K Canon Cinema EOS C300 Mark II and C500 Mark II Due in April

February 24, 2015 By Eric Reagan

Canon-C500-Mark-II

Canon is now rumored to deliver the second generation of the Cinema EOS C300 and the C500 for NAB 2015 in early April.

Canon Rumors says that it has confirmed that the C500 Mark II would arrive – most likely alongside a 4K C300 Mark II cinema camera too.

Recall that we saw the Canon Cinema EOS C100 Mark II unveiled back in October 2014. It saw mild, yet important, upgrades from its predecessor.

Pushing the C300 Mark II to 4K is a big step up but still only a logical progression for a $12k+ camera in 2015. No word yet on what improvements the C500 Mark II will see.

Nikon 200-400mm f/4G Lens Gets $1000 Price Drop

February 24, 2015 By Eric Reagan

Nikon 200-400mm f4G VR II

It looks like the Nikon 200-400mm f/4G ED VR II lens received an unannounced price drop of $1000, which brings it down to $5647.90. The lens launched at $6999 back in 2010.

The new price drop brings it below the street price of of the previous generation of this lens when it was replaced. This could spell an update for the 5-year-old lens with a new version that includes a fluorite element.

Stay tuned.
