onOne Software’s Perfect Photo Suite 8 is in its final beta version prior to the November 26 launch of the new version. The program is works as a plugin to Aperture, Lightroom, Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. It can also be used as a standalone for editing images from start to finish. You can download the beta here at onOne Software’s website.
You can purchase Perfect Photo Suite 8 as a standalone app for $79.95. If you want the plug-in version only, it costs $129.95. Apple has issued an update to Digital Camera RAW to version 5.01, which adds RAW image compatibility for several new cameras in Aperture 3.5 and iPhoto.

Another update on the oft-rumored Canon 7D Mark II points to a release date sometime in the first half of 2014. Previous rumors pointed to a second quarter announcement for the camera, so this latest update remains consistent.
A couple of key new pieces of info point to a price point around $2000 and its positioning as a pro APS-C camera. Additionally, the 7D Mark II is rumored to feature a variation of a new AF system from an unannounced EOS 1 Series camera.

Blackmagic Design has released Blackmagic Camera 1.5 software for the Pocket Cinema Camera, which adds new 12-bit Log CinemaDNG RAW recording to the Pocket Cinema Camera, so users can now capture super wide dynamic range in a single file. This feature was promised when the camera was announced back at NAB 2013. You can find the update here on Blackmagic Design’s website.

Rumors for the Canon EOS M successor continue to build for an early 2014 launch. Previously, the camera(s) was rumored to feature the 70D‘s 20.2MP APS-C sensor and the excellent Dual Pixel AF functionality.
It’s no real surprise to hear more on the EOS M2 since it has already showed up in Canon’s own DPP software. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the EOS M2 in early January at CES 2014.

That teaser we saw from Canon Korea last week looks to be a white KISS model, which is known to be the Rebel line in the US. In all likelihood, we are going to see a white Canon Rebel SL1 or T5i released instead of an all new DSLR. Additionally, this may be just an Asia thing and the US and rest of the world may not see the new version of the camera at all.
