Corel Releases 64-bit PaintShop Pro X6

Corel recently updated PaintShop Pro with a 64-bit version. PaintShop Pro X6 now supports 64-bit processing and is proudly available from Corel as a perpetual license application, as communicated in Corel’s press release and in correspondence from Corel’s PR department (take that as a direct shot at Adobe’s Creative Cloud subscription-only licensing).

Sony Unveils Rugged Storage Drives

Sony recently introduced a new line of rugged, professional hard drives in SSD and standard spinning hard drive flavors. The SSD version (PSZ-SA25) is available as a 256GB capacity drive, while the spinning hard drives are available in 500GB and 1TB capacities (PSZ-HA50 and PSZ-HA1T). SanDisk Introduces the Extreme Pro CFast 2.0 Memory Card Into a Very Odd Format Civil War

SanDisk has unveiled the world’s first CFast 2.0 memory card with its new Extreme Pro model that is available in 60GB and 120GB capacities.

The Extreme Pro CFast 2.0 just laid claim to the world’s fastest memory card, with read speeds of up to 450MB/s and write speeds up to 350MB/s, offering up to double the shot speed of today’s fastest cards. [Read more…]

Apple Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 4.09 Adds Support for Olympus E-P5

Apple has issued an update to Digital Camera RAW to version 4.09, which adds RAW image compatibility for the Olympus E-P5 to Aperture 3 and iPhoto ’11.

It also includes changes that:

  • Restore lens correction to Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 images
  • Address a white balance issue with some Nikon images that were modified by third-party applications

SanDisk Unveils 256GB Extreme Pro CF Card

SanDisk has released a new 256GB Extreme Pro CF card with minimum sustained write speeds of 65MB/s and max write speeds up to 140MB/s. Read speeds max out at 160MB/s.

The cards are UDMA Mode 7 compliant for fast buffer clearance on supported cameras. SanDisk touts the new high-capacity card as optimized for 4K video capture, which is further highlighted by the VPG-65 specification (i.e., min. sustained write speed of 65MB/s). [Read more…]

Lumos Trip Pro is a New Portable Continuous LED

The Lumos Trip Pro is a new portable continuous LED light for HD camcorders and DSLRs.  The pocket size light features a full range adjustable color temperature (3200K-5600K), dimming from 100% to 0 with minimal color shift, and a CRI as high as 97 Ra for Tungsten.
