Canon has revealed details on seven new EOS Cinema lenses for the new EOS C300 camera and the upcoming 4K DSLR camera.
The lenses are high-end cinema lenses rated better than 4K resolution. The new CN-E24mm T1.5 L F, CN-E50mm T1.3 L F and CN-E85mm T1.3 L F lenses are designed for all current Canon EOS sensor formats, including full frame coverage on the 5D Mark II and 1D X. The 24mm and 50mm lenses will be available in July 2012, while the 85mm is set for an August 2012 release. All three new cinema primes retail for $6800.
The 14.5-60mm (Jan. 2012) and 30-300mm (Mar. 2012) cinema zoom lenses ring in at $45,000 and $47,000, respectively. Note that these lenses are only compatible with Super 35 / APS-C format image sensors.
