Adobe CS3 and CS4 Customers Will Get Upgrade Pricing to CS6

Adobe stirred the pot a few months back with the news that only CS5+ customers would be able get upgrade pricing to CS6.  Backlash ensued and, now, Adobe has relented with news that CS3 and CS4 customers will have until the end of 2012 take advantage of upgrade pricing on CS6.

Technicolor CineLights and CineLooks Color Correction Tools

Deep inside the Technicolor booth at CES 2012 was a small table showing off some new color correction software from the same company that brought CineStyles to our Canon HDSLRs last year.

Technicolor CineLights is a program based on Technicolor’s award-winning DP Lights system and is intended for quick color correction such as dailies.  It’s not really intended as a finish grading tool; however, it does offer some keying, three-way color correction and a Look Library as part of CineLooks. Lightroom 4 Beta Now Available

Adobe SpeedGrade Coming to Producting Premium CS6?

When Adobe bought IRIDAS’ tech earlier this year, colorists ears perked up at the idea of Adobe implementing SpeedGrade into its Production Premium suite of video products.  It’s been crickets since then though.

Lightroom 3.6 and Camera Raw 6.6 Release Candidates Available

Adobe Lightroom 3.6

Adobe has made release candidates of Lightroom 3.6 and Camera Raw 6.6 available for download in Adobe Labs.  These versions add RAW file support for the following cameras:

  • Canon PowerShot S100
  • Nikon 1 J1
  • Nikon 1 V1
  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1
  • Samsung NX5

A number of new lens profiles have also been added, along with several bug fixes.  Additional release notes are indicated on the respective download pages for each product. [Read more…]

Automatic Duck Plug-ins Now Available for Free

Automatic Duck has changed its focus since the big partnership announcement with Adobe.  As a result of the inability to provide the level of support that the company has provided in the past, Pro Import AE, Pro Import FCP and Pro Export FCP (both versions, for FCP7 and FCPX) are available at no charge.
