Canon EF 24-70mm II, 24mm f/2.8 IS USM and 28mm f/2.8 IS USM Lenses Announced

Canon New Lenses Feb 2012

Canon launched 3 new lenses today – a new standard zoom and two stabilized primes. These are all EF lenses with full-frame coverage.

Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM – Priced at $2299. Available in April.

Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 IS USM – Priced at $849. Available in June.

Canon EF 28mm f/2.8 IS USM – Priced at $799. Available in June.

Nikon D800 Outed, Official Announcement Later Tonight

Well, the Nikon D800 appears to no longer be a rumor. A Brazilian site, Ztop, has published an article with official images and specifications for the camera.

Canon 5D Mark III Spotted in the Wild?

Is this the Canon 5D Mark III?

An unknown Canon camera appeared in Kenya this week, along with prototype versions of the Canon 200-400mm lens and Canon 600mm lens.  Lots of speculation has ensued as to whether this is the Canon 5D Mark III.

The above photo comes from the Aperture Academy blog and shows a Canon camera body attached to the new 600mm lens.  The person using the camera and lenses is claimed to be a Canon employee who is testing new equipment. [Read more…]
