Zeiss has announced its third Compact Zoom lens, the CZ.2 15-30mm T2.9 lens, to go along with the current CZ.2 28-80mm T2.9 and CZ.2 70-200mm T2.9 lenses. The new lens completes a broad range for the CZ.2 line, which is also the only full frame zoom cine-style lenses in the world. (Canon’s EOS Cinema zoom lenses only cover an APS-C sensor.) Zeiss has taken wraps off of its Touit 50mm f/2.8 macro lens, which will be available for APS-C format Fuji X-Series and Sony E-mount cameras. The lens offers a 1:1 macro capability and runs $999.

Though this lens has been in development for some time, Zeiss has finally taken the official wraps off of its 55mm f/1.4 Otus Distagon T* lens. The new lens is available in Nikon and Canon mounts for $3,999. It is expected to ship in November for both mounts.
This is the first lens in this new family of Zeiss lenses that is supposed to take optical excellence to the next level. Perhaps we’ll see another lens “in development” at or around PhotoPlus 2013…
Zeiss has released a new cine zoom lens, the CZ.2 15-30/T2.9, which complements the existing CZ.2 70-200mm T2.9 and CZ.2 28-80mm T2.9 lenses.
As with other Zeiss CZ.2 lenses, the new 15-30mm T2.9 has an interchangeable mount system for compatibility with PL, EF, F, MFT and E mounts. The lens is compatible with full frame (e.g., 5D Mark III) and APS-C (e.g., EOS C300) cameras.
Pricing for the new CZ.2 15-30/T2.9 will be under €20,000. Based on the US prices of the other CZ.2 lenses, the new lens will probably land at $19,900 in the US. It should be available to buy in April 2014. Start saving now.

The new Zeiss Touit lenses are available for pre-order in both Sony NEX E-mount and Fuji XF-mount flavors. The Zeiss Touit 12mm f/2.8 lens runs $1250, while the Touit 32mm f/1.8 lens is $900. B&H currently lists availability at 6-8 weeks – so, hopefully, by the end of June.
