[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p36JKnSOBLY&w=700]

Kai from Digital Rev is back with his first look at the new Nikon D750. He provides his usual quirk, along with some practical observations of the camera. As usual with Kai, there is some mild language within – so, fair warning.

Since Kai discussed the body materials and construction of the Nikon D750 quite a bit in the video, I figured this is a good place to share some of the photos of the D750 teardown and cutaways that I gathered at PhotoPlus last month. Check them out below. [Read more…]

Canon Unveils New EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L II USM Lens

November 11, 2014 By Eric Reagan

Canon EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS II USM

Canon has officially unveiled its EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L II USM lens, which replaces the 16-year-old 100-400mm L lens predecessor. The new 100-400mm lens most obvious change is a rotating zoom ring design instead of the push-pull design from the older model. Additionally, the new lens offers improvements in image quality with a new optical formula and Image Stabilization performance up to four stops.

The lens has three Image Stabilization modes – standard, panning, and during exposure only. It also sports a weather sealed design and a magnesium housing. The new optical formula features one Fluorite element and one Super UD element, which helps suppress chromatic aberration throughout the zoom range.

The lens ships with a dedicated tripod foot and lens hood. It retails for $2199 and should be available in December 2014. Check it out here at B&H Photo.

More details in the press release below. [Read more…]
