The Canon EOS M2 showed up as a supported camera inside the latest Canon Digital Photo Professional software update. The references are alongside separate references to the Canon EOS M, so it is unlikely that the EOS M2 references were simply a typo. [Read more…]

No More New Canon DSLRs or Lenses in 2013?

September 21, 2013 By Eric Reagan

Canon 100-400mm L Lens

We had lots of hope for new cameras and lenses from Canon. Particularly, I have been looking forward to a replacement for the EF 100-400mm L lens. Recent rumors, however, suggest that Canon may not have anything left to pull out for 2013 in terms of EOS and EF lines.

There has been plenty of murmurs in recent months about a pair of new EOS M models due prior to PhotoPlus 2013. (The current EOS M is still in fire sale mode.) If the sources are to be believed, however, it could be rather quiet for Canon other than the recent introduction of the EOS 70D.

iPhone 5s camera 1

Apple’s new camera in the iPhone 5s is receiving some high praise. While there is more to the camera than just the sensor, the image sensor is the backbone of the overall camera system. Along with the release of Lightroom 5.2, Adobe also released Adobe Camera Raw 8.2 and DNG Converter 8.2.

While Camera Raw 8.2 provides several new features, they are only available to Photoshop CC users. Those using Photoshop CS6, however, do get the new camera support provided in Camera Raw 8.2. [Read more…]

Nikon D610 Spec Rumors: Same as the D600?

September 19, 2013 By Eric Reagan

D600_24_85_top_KM.low

The rumored Nikon D610 specs have surfaced and appear to be the same as the Nikon D600. Again, the Nikon D610 is rumored to be a fast replacement to the D600 due to sensor spot issue. Accordingly, it makes sense that the D610 wouldn’t feature any significant updates other than an improved shutter mechanism (one that doesn’t produce residue that leads to sensor spots). Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom Creative Cloud Deal

After the Creative Cloud subscription method was implemented in full and perpetual licenses for future versions were killed,  many photographers vowed to leave Adobe in the dust and proclaimed that the company would crumble and fall from the decision.
