Previously, I did a comparison review of battery grips for the Canon 5D Mark II – specifically, the Canon BG-E6 battery grip with third party grips from Zeikos (apparently, no longer available) and Vivitar. My conclusion was that both of the third-party grips performed comparably to the more expensive Canon-branded grip. In the latest round of Canon DSLR and Printer rebates, it looks like Canon has sweetened the deal with instant cash back on PIXMA Pro 9000 and Pro 9500 printers. The end result after mail-in rebates is a total rebate of $500 on a $450 printer (the PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II) or a $600 rebate on a $720 printer (the PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II).
Essentially, a PIXMA Pro9000 costs negative-$50 and Pro9500 costs $120 when purchased with a qualifying Canon DSLR.

I’ve been working on a short film project recently with my church (along with our in-house video director/my very good friend Nick, and some very talented volunteers). The short film is something we plan to use as part of our Easter morning service later this month. We’re shooting it entirely on the Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 7D. We shot most of the scenes in one day at two locations (around 25 total set ups for a 16+ hour shooting day). Yesterday, we wrapped up with the intro scene, which calls for the lead character in a vehicle talking on a cell phone.
