It is simply amazing what the Magic Lantern guys keep squeezing out of Canon’s DSLRs.

Now, they have managed to get 14-bit RAW DNG files captured without the mirror dropping or shutter closing between frames. This further paved the way for RAW video that is currently running at 10fps; however, they expect to reach 24fps based on the developments they have seen thus far. This could be huge for Canon 5D Mark II and 5D Mark III shooters. Pentax K Side

Recent rumors suggest that Pentax’s full frame K-3 DSLR may arrive this week on March 27. This comes after a photographer testing the new K-3 posted his early report on his Google+ profile, comparing the quality to cameras like the Nikon D800 and D4 or the Canon 5D Mark III and 1D X.

According to specs being tossed around, the Pentax K-3 will feature a 24MP full frame sensor and a max sensitivity up to ISO 102,400. The early report noted above says that noise “only starts showing up visibly at around ISO 6400.” [Read more…]

Tascam iM2X iPhone Stereo Mic for $39.99 – Deal Alert

February 28, 2013 By Eric Reagan

 Tascam iM2X

The Tascam iM2X stereo condenser mic for the iPhone is only $39.99 right now at B&H (reg. $79.98). The iM2X records in 16-bit / 44.1 kHz through the free Tascam linear PCM recorder app and supports the iPhone 4, 4S and iPads through the third-gen.

This price has probably dropped due to the new lightning connectors on current iOS devices, but it’s still a solid deal if you are using an iPhone 4S/4 or an prior-gen iPad. Check it out here at B&H Photo.
