Adobe has updated Lightroom mobile for iOS to version 1.3, which includes the following new features:

  • The ability to edit images faster by copying image adjustments and pasting them onto another photo

Lightroom 6 Moving Exclusively to 64-bit Operating Systems

January 21, 2015 By Eric Reagan

Lightroom 6 Mockup

Adobe has been churning out steady releases of Lightroom for nearly 10 years now – since the very first beta hit in 2006. I’ve been using it since those early days and it was a fresh take on non-destructive image editing. It is a fantastic program for both developing and organizing RAW image files.

It is supported over a wide range of operating systems for both Mac and Windows computers. However, that list of supported systems is about to drop.  [Read more…]

Lightroom mobile for Android Phones Now Available

January 15, 2015 By Eric Reagan

Llightroom Mobile Android

Lightroom mobile is now available for Android phones. Previously, Adobe had released Lightroom mobile for iPad and iPhone.

Now, all of you Samsung Galaxy and Note users, along with other Android devices devices that meet the minimum requirements of a Quad Core CPU with 1.7GHz ARMv7 architechture, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage and Jellybean, KitKat or Lollipop OS.

Key Lightroom mobile capabilities include:

  • Sync edits, metadata and collection changes to the Lightroom catalog on a Mac or Windows computer
  • Automatically import images from the smartphone gallery and sync back to the Lightroom catalog on the desktop
  • Edit images using familiar Lightroom tools and presets, including non-destructive processing using Smart Previews
  • Quickly flag and reject photos

Of course Lightroom mobile requires a Creative Cloud subscription in order to sync your Lightroom catalog from you Mac or PC, but it is no additional cost if you are a Creative Cloud member. You can download Lightroom mobile for Android here on the Google Play Store.

In addition to Lightroom mobile, Adobe has also launched Lightroom web, which is a new way to view and share your photos from any web browser. You can find more info about Lightroom for web here on lightroom.adobe.com. If you already have a Creative Cloud account, your sync galleries are already on Lightroom web for you to see now.

Show Focus Points Plugin for Lightroom

October 7, 2014 By Eric Reagan

Show Focus Points Lightroom Plugin

Show Focus Points is a new plugin for Adobe Lightroom 5. The plugin does just what the name says – finally allowing you to see focus points in your photos from Lightroom.

It also reveals other focus info like focus distance and focus mode. Currently, the plugin only works with Canon and Nikon DSLRs, and only in Lightroom 5. It supports both Mac OS X and Windows installations.

Best of all though, the Show Focus Points plugin is free for now. Check it out here on the Show Focus Points website.
