Sony Adds 30x Zoom and APS-C Models to Lens-Style Mobile Camera Line

Today, Sony introduced two new models to its smartphone clip-on line of camera lens attachments – the QX30 and QX1.

The QX1 really takes things up a notch as a full on E-mount camera that sports a 20.1MP APS-C sensor. The QX1 attaches to a smartphone just like the other QX models; however, the difference is that it allows you to mount any E-mount lens to your cellphone.  [Read more…]

Zeiss Loxia 50mm and 35mm Full Frame Lenses for Sony E-Mount Unveiled

Zeiss has launched a new line of lenses for the Sony full frame E-mount, which currently includes the A7, A7R and A7S models. The two lenses launching the Sony E-mount are the Zeiss Loxia 35mm f/2 Biogon T* and the Zeiss Loxia 50mm f/2 Planar T*, which are priced at $1299 and $949, respectively. Perfect Photo Suite 9 Announced

onOne Perfect Photo Suite 9

onOne Software has announced Perfect Photo Suite 9 with a number of new features. Among the key new features are fast previews of RAW files, a new Smart Photo feature, which lets you re-edit photos with previous settings intact and improved masking tools. Additionally, noise reduction is now part of the Suite as a result of user feedback and requests.

Perfect Photo Suite 9 will be available in late October 2014 in two versions: Premium and Basic. The Premium version includes support as a plug-in ofr Photoshop, Lightroom, Photoshop Elements and Aperture; and retails for $129.95. The Basic version doesn’t offer plug-in support but functions as a standalone image editor; and retails for $79.95.

The Premium version is available for a limited time to owners of previous versions of Perfect Photo Suite for $89.95.

Samyang Teases New Lens

Samyang Wide Angle Lens Teaser

Samyang has posted another teaser on its Facebook page shortly after it launched the new 50mm T1.5 lens last week. The tag line on the cryptic image reads “Prepare for more…”

Photo Rumors has received a tip that the new lens will be a wide angle photo lens that should be released in the coming days in the lead up to Photokina 2014.

Samsung NX1 Flagship Camera Coming Soon

Samsung appears set to unveil its flagship NX1 model prior to Photokina this month. The Samsung NX1 will sit atop the NX line of APS-C mirrorless cameras ahead of the NX3000, NX300 and NX30 models. If rumors hold true, it will feature a higher resolution 28MP sensor, as opposed to the 20.3MP sensor found in the aforementioned models. [Read more…]
