Sony Sues RED for Patent Infringement by RED ONE, EPIC and Scarlet Cameras

Round 2 ladies and gentlemen.

Recall a couple months back when RED initiated suit against Sony for patent infringement by Sony’s F65, F55 and F5 cinema cameras. RED wanted to literally have Sony’s cameras pulled from shelves and destroyed.

Now, it’s Sony’s turn.

On the eve of NAB 2013, Sony released a statement that it has filed suit against RED for infringing on seven of its patents. [Read more…]

New Prime Circle XE Cine Lenses with Wireless Remote Aperture Control

LockCircle has announced its new Prime Circle XE system of cinema lens at NAB 2013.

The new Prime Circle XE lenses are available in 10 different focals from 15mm to 135mm. The XE wireless controller allows remote adjustment of the aperture of system lenses from up to 300′ away.

Prime Circle XE lenses will be on display at LockCircle’s booth at NAB 2013. Additional info should be available soon on Lock Circle’s website.

Canon 70D Coming April 23?

The latest rumors suggest that Canon has a new camera announcement coming on April 23, 2013. While no specific details have leaked out at this point, the Canon 70D seems to be a very likely candidate.
