Check out this $56 Coleman LED lantern kit, which breaks down into 4 separate LED lights with rechargeable batteries.
Of course, Coleman designed this as a camping accessory; however, it looks like it could work well as a compact remote light setup for video. Obviously, it’s not for everyone, but if you are looking for a DIY light kit for your budget videos, this might fit the bill.

Switronix has unveiled a new power cable for Canon DSLRs using the LP-E6 battery type (currently, the 5D Mark II, 7D and 60D).
The XP-DV-CH features a regulated 7.9v battery paddle (LP-E6 type) and an inline female p-tap connector for 12vdc, housed in an enclosure. It also includes both red and green LED indication to display battery power status. The cable can be used in association with a Switronix accessory or used solo with a PRO-X series lithium-ion battery product.

It looks like the über-leaky new Sony cameras will be showing up in a couple of weeks if Photo Rumors‘ sources are right. June 3 is the slated date for the new A35 SLT camera, which replaces the Sony A33.
Alongside the new SLT (translucent mirror camera), Sony is expected to launch its next NEX camera – the Sony NEX-C3, which sports an articulating LCD and a tiny body. The new (and also leaky) 30mm f/3.5 E-mount lens and NEX flash should debut on June 3 as well.
