Google+ Goes RAW; Better Conversion Now Supports Over 70 Cameras . . . Look Out Adobe!

Google+ added improved RAW file to JPEG conversion for over 70 cameras (including new cameras like the Nikon D800 and Nikon 1 J3). Additionally, you can always access your RAW files from the cloud if you need the original on a local drive.
I think this is a big, dang deal. While everyone is stirring for an Adobe competitor to come out of the woodwork with a perpetual license alternative to Photoshop, Google is quietly sneaking up with its acquisition of Nik and just continues to nudge out releases of photo editing, archive and sharing support via Google+. Instagram for iOS 7 Update Available

Instagram has released an update that corresponds with iOS 7 and includes size increases when displaying photos and videos. Now, photos and videos will take up the full width of your screen when viewing them in your feed. The photos are also larger in grid view. Additionally, profile pictures are now circular instead of square.
The update also cleans up the look and feel of the overall Instagram interface so that it melds better with iOS 7.
Instagram 4.2 is now available for free here in the iTunes App Store.
Canon 44.7MP Pro DSLR Updates

There are a couple of Canon DSLR rumors for a high-MP DSLR. One is a 75MP+ DSLR and one is a 44.7MP DSLR. Canon’s current flagship DSLR, the EOS 1D X, rings in at 18.1MP. Previous rumors suggest that both DSLRs are undergoing field testing as prototype models. [Read more…]
WonderPana FreeArc Helps Put Filters on Previously Impossible Lenses

One of the shortcomings of such a wide-angle lens is the ability to add traditional filters to them. The protruding front lens elements and fixed petal-shaped hoods make it impossible.
Fotodiox has solved this problem with its new WonderPana FreeArc filter system for the Nikon wide- and super-wide lenses. The FreeArc can also handle graduated ND filters with the square filter attachment.
