The rumors have been out there for a while – Sony is done with the Translucent Mirror Technology and going full mirrorless in its Alpha A-mount cameras. As impressive as the Sony A77 and A99 have been, they may very well be a dying breed in the Sony Alpha lineup. The Nikon 1 Nikkor 32mm f/1.2 is a new lens for the Nikon 1 Series mirrorless camera system. The lens was originally introduced in October 2012 as an “in development” unit.
The new 32mm f/1.2 lens is 86.4 mm equivalent in full frame format, which makes a is a nice length for portraits and the f/1.2 should produce better bokeh than any other lens currently in the Nikon 1 series.
The Nikon 1 Nikkor 32mm f/1.2 lens retails for for $899.95 and should be available in June 2013. Check availability here at Adorama and here at B&H Photo.

The upcoming Olympus E-P5 is turning out to be a very poorly kept secret. The first photo of the new Micro Four Thirds camera leaked out last week, and now we have three more images.
The E-P5’s controls have undergone somewhat of a change from the layout of the E-P3‘s controls. And to confirm the model name, note the branding in the top image (see bottom right corner) with the model ‘E-P5’ inscribed on the camera. [Read more…]

Samsung Germany has published the product page for the NX2000 even though an official press announcement has not been made yet. Key details of the upcoming APS-C mirrorless camera include a 20.3MP sensor, 3.7″ touch screen display and wireless image sharing with mobile devices.

Olympus’ Chinese website is teasing a silhouette of a new PEN model that it has dated for a May 11, 2013 unveiling. The Olympus E-P5 and E-PL6 were previously rumored to be next on the PEN release schedule.
The Olympus PEN E-P3 is nearly 2-years old and no longer in production, while the E-PL5 was just announced in September 2012.
