Panasonic has announced a new 3D point and shoot camera. The new Lumix 3D1 captures 8MP 3D images and 3D video at 1080/60i. As a standard 2D camera though, the 3D1 will capture 12MP images, as well as ordinary 1080/60i video.
The 3D1 should be available in December 2011 at an initial retail price of $499.99. Check availability on Amazon.com.

Jill-e Designs recently released a new Everywear Gadget Bag, which has room for a DSLR, a couple of lenses and a speedlight – as well as other small photo accessories. It also has a protective sleeve pocket that can hold an iPad, Kindle or other small tablet device. [Read more…]
Flickr has released a new Android app, which is a free download from the Android Market Place. The new app features a built-in camera, upload integration with Flickr, Facebook, Twitter and others, and geotagging. It also offers access to Flickr organizational features and groups (although, I’m seeing limited options for any serious organizational features so far).

For those of you on the fence about Topaz’s new B&W Effects plug-in for Photoshop, Lightroom and Aperture, the introductory price on it expires next week.

ACD Systems launched ACDSee Pro 5 and ACDSee 14 today, priced at $239.99 and $79.99, respectively. Both products offer several new features and improvements.
ACDSee Pro 5 adds a new “user-controlled edge detection mask slider lets you focus the sharpening effect more to edges and textures than non-textured areas.” Additional new features include split-toning, enhanced dodge and burn controls, and metadata removal, among others.
ACDSee 14 adds map view and geotagging support, news special effects presets, and cloud storage and sharing options.

Nikon has updated Capture NX 2 to add RAW file support for the Nikon 1 J1, Nikon 1 V1, and COOLPIX P7100, along with other updates and bug fixes. More details on Nikon’s support website.
