Proposed Texas Law Makes It a Crime to Photograph Police from within 25 Feet

The Texas Representative Jason Villalba filed House Bill 2918 last week in Texas House of Representatives that attempts to criminalize any photographs, video, audio recording or other documenting of a police officer within 25 feet the officer.

I’ll cut right to chase and tell you that this bill is unconstitutional under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. No questions asked. This is Constitutional Law 101. There is no way this bill could withstand a constitutional challenge in court.

Lens Patent for Nikon 1 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Lens

A recently published patent application reveals a new version of the 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 VR lens for the Nikon 1 system. The optical formula in the patent focuses on make the lens more compact to accommodate the smaller Nikon 1 system.

Of course, the patent was just published on only filed back in October 2014, so don’t expect the lens anytime soon since the current version just started shipping a few months ago (it was announced in March 2014 alongside the Nikon 1 V3) and is still not regularly in stock (currently backordered at B&H).

More Lightroom 6 Details and Pricing Leak Out

Lightroom 6 is turning out to be one of the leakiest products Adobe has released in a while. Now, an eagle-eyed reader has spotted the product over on Best Buy’s site with a price of $149.99 for the full version and $79.99 for the Student and Teacher Edition. Both of these prices were expected, as that has been the default pricing scheme for Lightroom version for several years now. [Read more…]

Apple 13″ MacBook Pro Retina Gets Updated Trackpad & Processors
