The new Sony NEX-EA50 was quite the surprise when Sony unveiled it a couple of weeks ago. Dan Chung of DSLR News Shooter recently got a hands-on demo of the new APS-C powered, ENG-style camera at the BIRTV show in Beijing.

The new Sony HDR-AS10 and HDR-AS15 are new Action Cams aimed at the GoPro crowd. The compact cameras shoot 1080p HD video 30fps; however, they also have the ability to capture 720p HD video at either 30fps, 60fps or even 120fps for some great slow motion effects in a very compact package. The Sony NEX-5R is a new mirrorless camera featuring a 16.1MP CMOS sensor with phase-dectection AF (i.e., what DSLRs use) built directly into the sensor. In fact, there are 99 phase-detection AF points arrayed on the sensor. This should speed up the AF system considerably. [Read more…]
The Sony A99 has been rumored for many months now with more features and specs firming up as we move closer to Photokina 2012. Now, it seems, full specs for the 24MP full frame A99 have surfaced courtesy of Photo Rumors.
At this point, there’s not a whole lot that’s surprising; however, notably absent is the rumored 1080p HD video capture at 120fps. Instead, the specs list the A99 as shooting 1080/60p HD video.
