Adobe Lightroom 4

Adobe Lightroom 4 is officially out of the gate after a brief leak last week.  The price for the full version at launch is $149 (half off the $299 list).  Upgrades drop $20 less, down to $79.

If you’ve been following along with the beta release, then you have a pretty good idea what Lightroom 4 is like; however, we’ll hit the highlights below for those wondering what all the fuss is about. [Read more…]

Adobe to Offer Creative Suite Subscriptions for $50/mo

Adobe Creative Cloud - Everything You Need

Adobe is about to shake things up a bit with a new subscription model for its Creative Suite applications.  Adobe has kinda soured the milk recently with its decision to cut upgrades for earlier versions of its software (which it later rescinded for this upgrade cycle), so I’m curious to see how all of this shakes out. Magic Bullet Looks Now Works with Final Cut Pro X

February 6, 2012 By Eric Reagan

Magic Bullet Looks FCP X

I neglected to note this last week when I wrote about the Final Cut Pro X version 10.0.3 upgrade; however, one of the many fixes provided in the update was a hurdle that Red Giant had with implementing Magic Bullet Looks in Final Cut Pro X.

I’ve been using Magic Bullet Mojo with FCP X since it was released.  Simple, clean and smooth integration with the FCP X interface.  Now that Looks is integrated with FCP X, I’ll be using it on some upcoming projects.  In what little I’ve played around in it, I’ve been overly pleased with the interface.  I’ll let you know if there are any problems as I use it more, and I welcome your thoughts as well.  So far though, so good.

Magic Bullet Looks is only $199 through tomorrow, Feb. 7 (that’s half off).  Coupon code LOOKSFCPX50 required. The FCP X Looks upgrade is free for existing Looks users.

Check out the video from Red Giant below. [Read more…]

Plural Eyes Now Available for FCP X

December 15, 2011 By Eric Reagan

Plural Eyes FCP X

Singular Software has released a beta version of Plural Eyes for Final Cut Pro X.  While FCP X offers the ability to automatically sync audio and video clips natively, it still comes up quite short for all but the simplest of setups.  Multi-cam is next to impossible with FCP X; however, the new Plural Eyes beta release gives a glimmer of hope for editing basic multi-cam projects in FCP X by syncing multi-cam footage.  Likewise, syncing multiple takes to a single audio clip is a challenge in FCP X, but is something that the new Plural Eyes beta shreds through easily. HDR Expose 2

December 15, 2011 By Eric Reagan

HDR Expose 2

HDR Expose 2 is a new HDR program that leverages Unified Color’s Beyond RGB color technology.  There are a gaggle of HDR programs out there and most of them seem to do very similar things.  However, I had the chance to sit down for a walk-through of the pre-release version of HDR Expose 2 at PhotoPlus in October and was stoked at what I saw this program do.

Check out this intro video to the brightness histogram for a little taste of how HDR Expose 2 works. [Read more…]
